This dazzling color image of Ruprecht 106 was made using separate exposures taken in the visible and near-infrared regions of the spectrum by Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS). This optical instrument is a third-generation device that replaced Hubble's original Faint Object Camera in 2002.

Space enthusiasts of all ages visited the DMNS to see the fascinating photos captured by the James Webb Telescope. Yu explained the telescope is helping scientists understand the evolution of the universe, and one of Webb's first images is the deepest infrared image of the distant universe to date.
From cosmic cliffs to colorful galaxies, and every glittering landscape in between, the images have earthlings starstruck. Especially the young ones who can't help but wonder what else lies beyond Earth's sun, moon, and stars.
"I feel like like there's oxygen," Jackson said, pointing to the image of the cosmic cliffs, "and if humans would be able to transport humans to that galaxy, that would be crazy since there's like oxygen, nitrogen plus like a million stars."
Furthermore, in a note on its website, NASA said that the very bright star at the top of the image was HD 159073, only around 4,000 light-years from the Earth. That also made it a much nearer neighbour than NGC 6380, said the space agency.
While some of the largest telescopes on Earth use a collection of mirrors to gaze into the cosmos, James Webb is the first manmade telescope to use this design out in space. The probe uses 18 hexagonal, beryllium mirror segments to collect light from distant objects and sends those images back to scientists here on Earth.
