I opened Zero Configuraion GUI on two computers and transmit instant message between them, the message transmission works fun. I tried to monitor the data coming in and out with a serial port monitor software while transmitting the message, but I can not see any message being received or transmitted on the software , why is that?
I worked with TMDSPLCKIT-V3. As far as I know this device is connected via JTAG-USB at PC. Indeed the system device manager identifies this connection as an "USB-serial port #". But I don't understand what application you can use for the simultaneous monitoring of this port if one is in use of Zero Configuraion GUI? How are you trying to do it?
Hello Igor ,thanks for reply, the software I used called "Advanced Serial Port Monitor", it has a "spy" mode which allows you to monitor serial port that other application is using , I tried other serial port application and it works fun.
Ok...Unfortunately I didn't deal with "Advanced Serial Port Monitor". But I would like to note that for USB-connection with TMDSPLCKIT-V3 the special driver XDS100 is used. Although this connection is defined as a serial port, but I'm not sure that in this case the compatibility will be maintained with your monitoring application. Still, this connection is not a "real" serial port. It is an emulation only...Maybe TI-experts will explain anything about this (plc_support@list.ti.com).
